Marco Pinotti to write a book on his life
Marco Pinotti has decided to write a book on his professional career where he will opined about his personal view on life and road cycling.
After spending almost one and a half decade in the peloton, the Italian has definitely developed a very deep understanding of the sport.
He started the professional crusade with back in 1999 with Team Lampre-ISD and stayed with the team by the end of 2004 season.
He accepted a two-year deal from Team Saunier Duval-Prodir, 2005-06 before joining Team T-Mobile in 2007.
Team T-Mobile, also known as Team HTC-Highroad announced its exit from professional cycling by the end of 2011 season because of financial constraints and the Italian had to find a new home to continue his professional endeavour.
He joined the American side, Team BMC in 2012 and is all set to continue his second consecutive term with the team.
The book was officially presented in his hometown, Bergamo, situated in the north of Milan where he briefed that the book content in the book is true to the best of his knowledge and is according to his understanding of the sport.
"I've told my story and talked about professional cycling without the lies and rhetoric of other books," Pinotti told Cyclingnews.
"It's a kind of autobiography that talks about my career and my life as a professional, but also talks about the life we live, about other riders I know pretty well such as Mark Cavendish, about training and diet, and about the races we ride all over the world”.
“I hope it can help people understand another side of professional cycling that has been overshadowed by all the doping news of the last few weeks".
Marco has a degree in industrial management and is known as a professor in professional peloton. He believes in clean cycling and has never been accused of doping or using any other unfair mean to boost his performance ever.
Name of the book is "Il mestiere del ciclista: Una vita in bicicletta, curiosità, esperienze e consigli" (The cyclist's trade: a life in cycling, secrets, experience and advice).
Several books are written in sports but Pinotti’s book is different in a way that he has written it all along by himself during the past two years.
