The Borussia Monchengladbach striker urges his teammates not to think too far ahead and focus on one game at a time.
Having made a significant impact so far this season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 plans on taking it one game at a time in a bid to lead the Foals to silverware. He stated that there is enough pressure from the fans to win every game, but Gladbach
must not think too far ahead and continue making progress as they have been doing since the start of this season.
Reus mentioned that the European spot is definitely a possibility, but the Foals need to take one step at a time. He insisted that Gladbach have made rapid progress this term, and it is important that his teammates do not start
dreaming already of a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
The attacker added that the Borussia-Park outfit only needs to focus on the upcoming games and the results will reflect their efforts.
While addressing the official Bundesliga website, the Borussia Dortmund-bound striker further elaborated:
“It's not just that it's served us well, it's also the reality. It's no use looking weeks into the future. I'm happy to keep repeating myself and taking it one game at a time. Even if we do break 40 points, it's important to keep
our feet on the ground and keep working hard, otherwise we won't have any success at all.”
Reus has been a significant contributor to his team’s success so far this season, and has already amassed 11 league goals and four assists from 15 appearances. He was also on target in Gladbach’s last league game against Bayern
Munich which Lucien Favre’s men won by a comprehensive 3-1 margin.
The 22-year-old German aims to lead his side to something of note by the end of this campaign before departing for his new venture at the Westfalenstadion.
Gladbach currently find themselves one point short of the top spot and a win over Stuttgart in their upcoming league game could even take them atop the league standings.
