Marco Reus or Arjen Robben: Bayern Munich to decide on both players by December
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed desire of bringing Marco Reus to Allianz-Arena. return.
Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes had previously denied reports of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733’ interest, contrary to the chairman’s statement.
Heynckes termed Reus’ arrival as ‘rumours’, advising the player to try his luck at Signal Iduna Park as Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the midfielder.
Rummenigge, on the other hand, stated that the youngster is still on Bayern’s radar and the decision will be taken by the end of December.
Reus’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach is due to expire in 2015 but the club could earn up to 18 million Euros if Bayern are willing to land the midfielder at the end of this season.
When asked about Arjen Robben’s situation, the 56-years-old told that the Dutch winger is still under observation. He confirmed of the club’s desire to extend Robben’s contract, which is highly dependent on the player’s fitness.
Robben has had an injury plagued 2011/12 campaign, where he has only managed four league appearances until now. The player was also absent during the club’s DFB Pokal game against FC Ingolstadt, which the Reds won by a 6-0 margin.
The winger’s return date is still unknown but Allianz-Arena outfit are hopeful of Robben’s recovery in the coming weeks.
While talking to Sport-Bild, Rummenigge further enthused, "We have decided that we will wait for the end of the first round. There will be no talks with players whose contracts expire in 2012, or with those who are tied to us until 2013."
Commenting on Reus’ talent, the former striker added, "Marco Reus is definitely an interesting player. He is young and in the German national team. Our goal is to bring more http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 internationals to Munich."
Robben’s contract with the Reds is set to expire in 2013 but the current situation might force the Bundesliga giants to part ways with the experienced campaigner.
Apart from Robben, Bayern will also have to think of giving extensions to Mario Gomez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Breno-c8038 as their deals are set to expire at the end of this term.
