Bayern Munich chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has advised Borussia Monchengladbach attacker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733, to spend another year at Borussia Park.
Rummenigge was talking in the wake of claims linking Reus with a move away from Borussia Park at the end of the 2011/12 season.
The 22-year-old is tipped as a long term replacement for Bayern Munich winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521, who is linked with a move away from Allianz Arena at the end of the ongoing season.
The Bavarian chief confirmed Bayern’s interest in the talented midfielder but he has advised him to spend another year with Gladbach before testing his skills at a bigger club. He opined that the 22-year-old needs time to mature
before being asked to fill in the boots of the likes of Robben.
Rummenigge admitted that the Bayern scouting team will keep an eye on progress of the German international but also raised concerns over the transfer fee in the release clause of the midfielder.
While talking to Liga Total Lounge, Rummenigge said, : "Sometimes for young players it is not a bad decision to stay one more year and make further progress, because the pressure at a club like Monchengladbach or Borussia Dortmund
is lower than that at Bayern Munich."
The CEO is all praise for the attacker and has urged him to keep up the good work if he intends to represent the former German Champions in future.
The German giants have started to lose patience with injury-prone, Robben, and the club bosses have told him to take care of his fitness if he intends to prolong his stay at the Allianz Arena. Constant injury problems have curtailed
the Dutch international in making only seven league appearances this season.
On the other hand, Reus has been in outstanding form this season, having scored 10 goals in 14 league appearances thus far. After a phenomenal 2010/11 season, the youngster has continued to grow at a rapid pace and has attracted
interest from few of the top clubs across Europe. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 manager, Arsene Wenger, is keeping close tabs on the former Borussia Dortmund star and it is believed that he will make a January offer for him.
