Marco Reus warns his team against complacency, awaits his international debut for Germany
Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733, has warned his team against complacency after an amazing opening week victory over Bayern Munich. He expressed delight with his team’s 1-0 win at Allianz Arena but was disappointed with his own form in that
particular game. Reus was also looking forward to making his debut for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 against Brazil later this evening.
The youngster was talking to the club’s official website saying that his team were simply outstanding last Saturday. He hoped that the Foals would maintain the same type of composure going into the next game against VfB Stuttgart.
The 22-year-old, though, urged his teammates not to take any game easy and give more than one hundred percent in order to have a better campaign as compared to the last one.
He referred to last season’s 6-3 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in week two after which Monchengladbach never really got going. The midfielder asked his side to stay grounded this time around and concentrate on the upcoming assignments.
The player was quoted in an interview, “It would be a big mistake if we were to start thinking about that now. We've just got keep concentrating on knuckling down instead of considering what has already happened.”
Reus also expressed delight at his international call up for a friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 and vowed to justify his worth in front of the national team manager, Joachim Low. He showed gratitude to Low for considering his name and hoped to get a place in country’s
starting XI. The player, at the same time, was focused on his club’s upcoming game against Stuttgart and mentioned that his side need to adapt the same approach as it did against the Bavarians.
He concluded by saying, “There's nothing holding me back this time and thankfully I'm fully fit right now. Whether that means I'll make an appearance is yet to be seen. That's the coach's decisions. We've got to approach that game exactly the same way we
did here in Munich, then we'll have a good chance of being successful against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879.”
Reus has twice represented his country at the U-21 level and will surely get a chance, later this evening, to play for the senior side.
