The promising youngster has impressed everyone with a number of impressive performances for PSG in recent weeks.
The summer arrival from Pescara has made six official appearances for the French club so far and has been likened to Andrea Pirlo, for his style of play. Latest in the list is his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who made the comparison earlier this week.
However, Marco Verratti is not getting carried away and is remaining humble. While talking to reporters, the 19-year-old stated that the comparison with the former Milan player is great, but stressed that he still has a lot of work to do in order to reach
at the same level with Andrea Pirlo.
"The comparisons with Pirlo do me a lot of good as he is one of the best players in the world," the Italian told reporters.
The youngster said that he is still in early stages of his career and he needs to work really hard if he wants to become as good as the Juventus midfielder.
"I am still far from his level. I will have to work very hard if I am to become as good a player as him and achieve the same success."
While talking about his move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer, the 19-year-old said that he didn’t come to Paris because of money, and the main reason behind his decision to join Les Parisiens was the opportunity to play for a top European club.
"Believe me, money was the last thing on my mind when I made my decision. This was not an economical choice for me."
Verratti added that the chance to play for a club like PSG was hard to turn down, and playing in Champions League will help him become a better player.
"Paris Saint-Germain are one of the most important clubs in Europe and can win everything. The Champions League is a perfect podium for me to show my abilities."
