  1. He has been a regular in the quarterfinals and semi-finals the past few years. So, the seeding is in honor of past achivements here. But I do agree his form is below average (for his potential) this year. He is a great personality and it is a pity that he is not improving his tennis to hang around in the later stages of tournaments lately. I think it is because he does not have the physical and mental discipline to be a top 10 player. He looks out-of-shape at times and finds it difficult to close matches that he should win easily.

  2. cuz he's awesome!

  3. No I don't get it either. The same happened last year at Wimbledon only last year he was 18 in world but got 10 seed.

Okay if he was a past champion then it would be understandable but he is not. He reached a semi and quarter in the last two years which is impressive and worthy of a higher seed but 10? that is too much.

I think Bagdatis is great though and I expect he will do well this year despite dodgy form.

Well what I have just said answers your question but yeah it does not really justify a rise of that scale.

  4. I'm not quite sure. Maybe because he won a few more matches? That guy needs an easy draw... he's off it this year!

  5. Well, there is a points system there. I like marcos playing. I wish he could improve more his ranking.http://summer-olympics-updates.blogspot....

  6. that's Wimbledon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baghdatis reached the semis in 2006 and the quarters last year so the tournament responsibles decided to upgrade him to #10 seed.

but it's such a shame they don't do it vice versa - especially the grass clown Davydenko. they should not even seed him in the top ten. this guy never passed the 2nd round except last year where he surprisingly reached the 4th round (wow!). the guy is seeded #4 - this is what makes the draw somewhat lopsided.

it's indeed due to the achievements of the LAST 2 years. Lindsey Davenport didn't play in 2006 and 2007 so she can't take profit from her earlier achievements (won 1999, RUP 2000 and 2005).
