After terminating his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, the Brazilian defender has returned to his native country to sign up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cruzeiro-c38870 despite receiving offers from several Ligue 1 clubs
“After five seasons in which he wore the red and blue jersey, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcos-c23772 Ceara has terminated his contract with Paris Saint-Germain by mutual agreement. PSG would like to thank Marcos for his work and the professionalism he has shown throughout his five seasons
of wearing the club’s colours and expresses its best wishes for success in his new endeavours,” read a statement on the official website of Paris Saint-Germain a few days back.
Marcos Ceara arrived at the Ile club in 2007 following a great season with Brazilian giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573. The defender who hails from Crato, made 116 appearances for Les Parisiens and always carried himself with a professional integrity that seems to be
lacking in players these days.
The arrival of Carlo Ancelotti as the club’s new coach had already sealed most of the PSG players’ future including Ceara. At the age of 32, Ceara was never going to become an integral part of the side so a move away from Parc des Princes was never out of
the question.
The right-back was indeed a victim of the club’s new policy which aims at making PSG an elite European side that would rub shoulders with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Furthermore, Ceara found it hard to establish himself in the Italian manager’s starting XI in the second half of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign and is keen on resuming his career which is coming to an end.
For long, it was speculated that AS Saint-Etienne were really interested in signing the Brazilian. Les Verts wanted Ceara as a replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Albin-Ebondo-c4350 but in the end, the 32-year-old chose to return to his homeland after almost 5 years in the Old Continent.
The information was confirmed by the Brazilian club’s official website as well.
“Cruzeiro announces the signing of right-back Ceara, who wore the colours of Paris Saint-Germain for five seasons. The details of his arrival will be announced later.”
