Marcus Campbell not satisfied with his form in 2012 Wuxi Classic semi-final against Ricky Walden
Final line-up of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament has been completed with the victory of the Englishman Ricky Walden over Scotland’s Marcus Campbell by the score line of 6-1. Despite trying hard in the game, Campbell was unable to resist even a little
against Walden and was pushed to the edge to lose the match with an easy score.
Campbell was able to win only one frame in his run during the first session of the match and after that he failed to add even a single frame on his side of the score-board. Campbell has a tremendous run in the entire tournament making his way terrifically
into the semi-final encounter. He was quite hopeful to make an appearance in the penultimate stage but he failed to some up to expectations.
While speaking to World Snooker after his match, Campbell said, “I had a chance early-doors to try and impose myself in it, but I didn't feel comfortable out there at all. I thought the table was playing a little bit heavy, unlike last night when I thought
it was really nice for the first four or five frames. I'm really disappointed with how I played, I didn't test Ricky at all there.”
He added, “I didn't feel as though I was getting the cue through, I wasn't seeing any of the shots, it's horrible when that happens.”
Marcus will now test his luck and skills in the 2012 Australian Goldfields Open snooker tournament at the Bendigo Stadium in Victoria. On the other hand, Walden will be facing the winner of the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open snooker event, compatriot Stuart
Bingham in the final encounter of the 2012 Wuxi Classic event.
Bingham played impressively against Mark Davis in the first semi-final clash and after facing tremendous game-play from Davis, he was able to beat him by the score line of 6-5 and claim his final spot entry. The final will be worth watching as both players
will be battling it out to put up a tremendous display of top quality snooker in the tournament.
