Mahram (IRI) 80 – Pilipinas Smart Gilas (PHI) 77
The two time defending champions Mahram of Iran squeaked past the Pilipinas Smart Gilas, the host of the tournament, by 80-77 on Saturday. Here are the top performers of the game:
M.Samad Nikkhah Bahrami
M.Samad Nikkhah Bahrami marshalled the Iranian squad as he scored team-high 19 points along with three assists and six rebounds. Bahrami scored eight of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and drove Mahram to a nail biting victory.
In his 36:12 minutes play, Bahrami went 4 of 5 (80 percent) from the charity stripe and made seven field goals out of his 16 attempts.

Marcus Douthit led all scorers on the night and thumped game-high 25 points for Smart Gilas in his 36:38 minutes stay on court. Douthit also clutched 13 rebounds along with three assists to reach another double-double of his career.

The second game proved to be cakewalk for Al Riyadi Beirut, who dominated Al Rayyan of Qatar from the very first quarter and led throughout the game to carve out a 71-52 win. The top performers of the game are:
Ismail Abdel Moneim Ismail Ahmed
Ismail Abdel Moneim Ismail Ahmed spearheaded the Lebanon side with his exceptional 25 points and clutched 12 rebounds to reach his game winning double-double. Along with the points Ahmed also provided five assists and blocked four
shots too. Ahmed made 11 field goals out of his 23 attempts (48 percent), his score includes two whooshes as well from beyond the arc.
El Cheikh Fadi El Khatib
El Cheikh Fadi El Khatib added 18 points for Al Riyadi Beirut together with four assists and three boards. Khatib was devastating from the free throw line as he shot 5 of 6 (83 percent), but was slightly low from the field (35
percent) and three-point range (14 percent).
