Marcus Elliott inks a new deal with Bradford Bulls - Rugby League News
Bradford Bulls have signed up Marcus Elliots to a two-year contract today, September 12. This move to join in with the Bulls was made after he had turned down a two-year deal that was extended to him by his club, Leeds Rhinos.
While speaking about this latest happening within Bulls, Paul Medley, who is responsible of youth development at Bulls, added, "Stand-off is a position in which we were short last season in both the academy and under-20s.We feel Marcus has all the attributes
to go a long way in the game and we are delighted he is coming to Bradford."
Elliot is recognised as a promising potential for Bulls, whose uptake has been made on pure merit basis. Elliot was playing for Rhinos for past two years and there at his previous club, he was also offered a contract which was to extend his stay at Leeds.
However, the 17-year-old has rejected Leeds offer to join in as Bradford, for next two years. This opportunity was too good to miss for the former Leeds’ young player, so this deal goes sealed. After inking his final deal at Odsal, Elliot shared, "I was
offered another contract by Leeds but after speaking to Paul Medley and [player performance manager] Stu Barrow, hearing their ambitions for the club and looking round the superb training centre at Tong School, I had no hesitation in joining the Bulls. I am
really looking forward to starting pre-season training with them."
Elliot also told that for him, the prospects for him to join in with Bulls were increased when Medley and Barrow shared their training plans for the upcoming season with the training centre at Tong school. He told that getting to know about the Hulls’ training
plans removed any brink on hesitation in joining Bulls.
