Marcus Fraser finishes one-stroke behind Bernd Wiesberger
Marcus Fraser is one-stroke behind the leader, finished the second round of the Ballantine's Championship on the second position.
The 33-year-old Australian professional golf player amazed the spectators after scoring 5-under 67 on Friday, at the Blackstone Golf Club, Icheon in Seoul, South Korea.
Bernd Wiesberger is the current leader of the European Tour staged event. He claimed the leading position of the event by scoring seven impressive birdies and for playing a bogey-free round.
"You know I got the odd break on the back nine," Wiesberger said. "I holed a long putt on five (his 14th hole as he started on the 10th) and a chip-in at the last, which, you know, is a bonus. But some of these days it all comes together and it was one of
them today".
Fraser also competed well for the title and is only one-stroke behind Wiesberger. Fraser’s performance in the first round was average. He shot 1-under 71, as he made four birdies and three bogeys on Thursday.
Then he implemented all his skills on the course, fired three birdies on the front nine and added four more birdies on the back nine holes.
He only faced trouble twice while scoring and carded bogeys on the 3rd and the 7th hole.
However, he did not lose his hopes and earned huge rounds of applause, for remaining bogey-free on the back nine holes.
"Obviously yesterday was very windy, pretty tricky for everybody," said Fraser. "And then today was completely different".
"We basically had no wind for most of the day and then it kicked up a little bit over the last maybe five, six holes. But overall, I'm very happy and very pleased with the way it's going at the moment".
As Fraser shared, he was lacking behind in scoring well in the first round, due to heavy winds. Moreover, on Friday, he played an amazing round, due to pleasant weather conditions.
He gave tough challenging times to the Austrian Wiesberger. Both are dominating the leaderboard and also have ample chances to maintain their positions in the upcoming two rounds.
The competition is tough. The victory is not that easy for one, as there are many other players chasing the title. Miguel Angel Jimenez is also among the top-5, after scoring 4-under par.
