Marcus Fraser sets out to prove himself in the PGA Championship
The players are getting ready for the 2012 PGA Championship, which starts on the 9th of August. Being a four-day event, the Championship will end on the 12th of August. The venue for this prestigious event is the Kiawah Island Golf
Resort, the Ocean Course.
The elite golfers of the world are going to battle it out at the Championship. The fans are going to get their money’s worth as the players give their best to impress them.
Many big names in the world of golf will be featuring in the Championship. The list of players also includes Australian professional golfer Marcus Fraser.
Bookies have given him almost no chance to win the Championship. Odds for his winning are 301-1. Till now he has bagged two European trophies and is ranked 82 in the world.
Fraser is currently in good form and he believes he has a good chance to win the tournament.
In an interview he said, “There is no point turning up unless you think you can contend come Sunday afternoon so hopefully I can do all the right things with my game and be in with a chance at some point Sunday”.
“This is my first PGA Championship and these are the events you want to play in so I'm looking forward to playing my best. I have moved into the top 85 in the world, the best I've ever been, and everything is going in the right direction,” he added.
This is thought to be one of the biggest golfing events of the year and there is already tremendous amount of hype created about the event.
This Championship is going to be extra difficult for the players, as it has been forecasted that the weather is going to be a bit unfriendly.
Lightening, rain and heavy winds are expected during the days of the tournament. This would most certainly increase the difficulty level of the course.
This year, Fraser will be participating in the tournament to prove himself. Lately, he has been criticized on his game. This is his chance to answer his critics once and for all.
