Marcus North blames indiscipline for Perth’s downfall in the CLT20 – Cricket News Update
Having been ousted from the Champions League T20 2012 after a poor performance in the Group matches, Perth Scorcher’s captain, Marcus North, has revealed that some of his players breached discipline during the tournament, which led
to the team’s downfall in the event.
The Scorchers entered the competition as one of the strong sides, having the services of a number of quality players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PD-Collingwood-c2173. However,
their last evening’s victory against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 Aces remained Perth’s sole win of the tournament, failing to qualify for the last four as a result.
North and company’s encounter against the Aces was inconsequential, encouraging them to make some changes in the playing-11, with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Rimmington-c2072 making way for others.
The discarded Test cricketer is devastated with the team’s showing in the event and feels that some of the players have let him down. North expressed without identifying the players that there were few individuals who were not fully
prepared for the match against Delhi Daredevils, which cost them a place in the semi-finals.
"There are players that played today and players that didn't play today that let the team down in preparation last week," said the middle-order batsman. "Last week, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780, there are players in our side that didn't reach the
standards of preparations that we require from them. It was not the night before the game against Delhi, but our preparations for the Delhi game in Cape Town."
There were rumours yesterday that the Marsh brothers and Rimmington were dropped from the playing-11 because of violating the team’s discipline; however, North refused to name the culprits and said that changes were made in the team
just because he wanted to give exposure to some of the other players.
"We brought 15 players over for this tournament, it was a dead rubber for us and we wanted to give those guys an opportunity to play in a big tournament like this," he added.
Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 is expected to take a strict action against some players once they reach back home.
