The manager is disappointed with the recent display against FC Koln and has urged the players to step up.
Sorg claimed that his team deserved to lose against Koln this weekend as they were very poor throughout the course of 90 minutes. The boss stated that he did not see any determination from the players and has called for improvement
in the future games if the team wants to stay in the Bundesliga next season.
Koln crushed Freiburg 4-0 at the RheinEnergieStadion on Saturday as Christian Clemens and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 scored a brace each, hence securing all three points for the home side. The visitors failed to get a result and are still
sitting at the bottom of the table after playing 16 games this season.
Sorg described the performance as ‘disappointing’ and admitted that the team deserved to lose after a display like that. The tactician insisted that his side started the game well and were good in keeping possession but it became
very difficult after the opposition scored their first goal.
The boss wants the players step up on their performances as they have already suffered nine defeats in the current campaign.
“Just as we were starting to dominate, Köln scored on the counter and that knocked the wind out of us. They got two quick goals to go 3-0 up and it was all over after that. We didn't give everything today and we know that if we
don't do that, it'll be very difficult for us to pick up points,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Meanwhile, Stale Solbakken, the opposition manager, was delighted with the result and hailed Podolski for putting in another match-winning display. He admitted that the team was in control throughout the match and created chances
consistently.
“I'm very happy with the result, but you also need to look beyond the score line. We had some problems before the break but after our second goal the game was over,” Solbakken concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 have now won only twice in the last ten matches they have played in all competitions. They are surely the candidates for relegation at this point of the season.
