Marcus Thornton stars as the Sacremanto Kings stun the Milwaukee Bucks, 97-90

The Milwaukee Bucks were pushed further back by the Sacramento Kings in the Playoffs’ race when they suffered a shocking defeat from the Kings 97-90, on Wednesday night at Bradley Center, Milwaukee.
The Bucks are now trailing by three games from the Indiana Pacers at final (8th) playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Marcus Thornton posted 27 points while his teammate Beno Udrih scored 25 points and gathered six rebounds in King’s huge victory. DeMarcus Cousins added 13 and Samuel Dalembert scored 11 points for the Kings.
The Bucks’ Coach Scott Skiles admitted this embarrassing defeat when he said,
“We just didn't have the type of intensity and focus you'd like to see and understanding the enormity of the game, we were kind of passive, it hurts for sure”.
Milwaukee's Carlos Delfino scored match high 30 points in his second consecutive game but even his massive contribution could not save the game for his team.
Andrew Bogut added 15; Luc Richard Mbah a Moute gathered11 and Larry Sanders scored 10 points for the Bucks.
The Bucks’ took an early advantage of seven points in the first quarter 32-25 but soon this deficit of seven points decreased to just three points at the end of second quarter’s play.
The second half of the game started at 56-53 in Bucks’ favor as they kept pushing ahead but, soon Kings combined themselves and made a fine comeback with the help of Marcus Thornton and Beno Udrih, when both added five points in total and finished the quarter at 75-74 in the Sacramento’s favor.
Though the Bucks entered into this game with soaring hopes to prolong their two games’ winning streak; instead they were ultimately caught up in the fourth quarter at 81-80 when nearly seven minutes were remaining in the game as Samuel Dalembert‘s 6-0 run helped his team to build a solid pressure upon the Bucks, until they totally knocked down by the Kings 95-90.
The Kings’ Coach Paul Westphal certainly satisfied with his team’s joint effort and said,
“I think they heard me in the second half. We really did crank up our defense, we got some really good performances from our backcourt, but mostly it was our defense and our rebounding in the second half that won it for us. It was first class”.
The Sacramento Kings are currently at 14th position in the Western Conference while they will be facing the Indiana Pacer on Friday night.
On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks will be playing against the New York Knicks on the same day.
