The Slovakian playmaker believes that the Blues were lucky to concede only three goals; warns his side against complacency ahead of the second-leg.
Marek Hamsik is confident that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 will be able to see off Chelsea, and will advance to the quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League.
The midfielder insisted that his team will not be held back, rather they will go ahead to score goals and enjoy the match against the London giants.
While talking to the press, the Slovakian playmaker said:
“We’re going to Stamford Bridge to enjoy the game, to play and we’re confident of getting through.”
The Azzurri beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 3-1 in the first-leg of the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 tie a fortnight ago. The Partenopei have a strong two-goal lead against the Pensioners ahead of the second-leg to be played in London.
The 24-year-old has warned his side against complacency, and has urged them team to stay calm until the final whistle. He believes that his side could have netted a couple of more goals against Chelsea in the first-leg, and insisted
that the Blues were lucky to get off with just three goals.
“We must stay calm, work hard and sacrifice everything until the last second of the game to make sure we qualify. Chelsea were lucky in the San Paolo. We deserved another goal at least.”
Hamsik said that he watched the Arsenal-AC Milan second-leg, and insisted that his side will not make the same mistakes.
The Slovak said that Chelsea are going through a tough time following the sacking of manager Andre Villas-Boas, and a lot of damage has already been done. He insisted that they have the odds on their side, but Napoli must start
strongly against the London giants and let the nerves do the rest.
"The odds are probably in our favour but it's necessary to play with our heads, keep our composure and let the nerves affect Chelsea.”
The Napoli midfielder admitted that the fans are happy, but insisted that everyone should understand that they are against a quality opposition, and the match is not over as yet.
Napoli will play Chelsea in the second-leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday, March 14th at Stamford Bridge.
