Hamsik admitted that his team was desperate to avoid the Spanish duo, Real Madrid and Barcelona because they are currently the best teams in the world. However, the Slovakian is full of respect for the Blues and believes that they
are a strong unit who are playing in the competition on regular basis.
While talking to the reporters, Hamsik said, “The most important thing is that we were not paired with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 or Real Madrid. Saying that, we are up against a very strong team. Chelsea are a great club who regularly play in
the Champions League.”
Napoli will host first of the two-legged tie between the two sides in February and Hamsik believes that it is too early to predict the outcome of the match. However, the former Brescia star admitted that the former Premier League
Champions will start the contest as favourites.
The 24-year-old does not want to talk much about the Champions League and wants to remain focused on Serie A for the time being.
“It’s difficult to say now how things might go in the game. We’re in December presently and the first game won’t be played until February. The only certainty is that Chelsea will be favourites against us, but we’ll give it a go.
For now though our priority is to do well in the championship – starting with Sunday’s game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. We’ll think about the Champions League in February...”
