Marek Mintal earns himself a new adventure at FC Hansa Rostock – 2. Bundesliga News

The East German outfit was delighted to announce the arrival of the 33-year-old believing that the striker could help them achieve their goals on the back
of his experience. The player signed a two-year deal with the club making him eligible to play at the DKB-Arena until June 2013.
Hansa made their way into 2. Bundesliga after finishing runners-up to Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2010/11 3rd Liga. The club officials expressed their delight at sealing the Slovak’s signature and hoped that the veteran could prove to be an inspiration
for the up and coming youngsters from the youth ranks.
Club’s manager, Peter Vollmann, believes that Mintal would give the club more attacking options upfront, and that Vollmann is the right to be introduced to the line-up. He added that the striker has years of experience at his disposal, precisely what the
club requires while preparing for the upcoming 2011/12 season.
The manager further mentioned, "In Marek Mintal we've acquired an experienced goalgetter who is just the type of player we're looking for and who will certainly be a great help to us as we try to establish a foothold in the 2. Bundesliga. Marek's in tip-top
condition and very motivated. He's a versatile forward who will give us more options in our attacking game."
Mintal started his playing career with Slovakian outfit, MSK Zilina, in 1996 and after spending seven years at the club, made his move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162. The striker bagged 66 goals from 180 Bundesliga appearances following
his acquisition in 2003. He made his debut for Slovakia national side in 2002 and netted in 14 goals from 45 appearances before retiring from international football in 2009.
The 33-year-old was also delighted at his new deal and enthused, "I'm looking forward to a great new working environment at Rostock and hope to play my part in helping us achieve our targets as soon as possible next season."
The player recorded 18 league goals at the end of 2003/04 season and was the joint highest goal-scorer alongside Francisco Copado. He achieved similar feats in 2008/09 season where he amassed 16 goals alongside Benjamin Auer and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cedric-Makiadi-c8641. Mintal was
