While talking to media, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 shareholder and owner gave a hint that she did not have a clue about what she was going to do about the club
After a disastrous season in Ligue 1, Olympique de Marseille are going to miss out on Champions League football next season. However, what’s even worse is that the club is financially very week to become a major player in the upcoming summer transfer window.
And owner Margarita Louis-Dreyfus is seemingly not happy with the situation.
Rather discreet on the subject, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus spoke about the club’s future while giving an interview to Echoes. Though she says that she wants to find a good solution for the club, MLD doesn’t really have any idea as to how she will get the club
out of the mess it’s in.
“The 2011 season was disappointing and the work of the Velodrome has further complicated matters. I’m still not sure what I’ll do.”
While talking about whether she’ll inject some money into the club or not, Louis-Dreyfus said that the Louis-Dreyfus group’s money isn’t hers and she can’t use it to finance Marseille.
“The press speculates on the billions that I am supposed to have, but those billions belong to the Louis-Dreyfus group, not me or my family. I don’t have the right to use company money to finance OM.”
However, Louis-Dreyfus says that she will not want to leave the club even though she wants to keep her options open. MLD wants a long-term solution and says that she is doing what’s best for the club.
“I want to remain a shareholder of OM but I want to keep my options open. I want a long-term solution for the better of OM.”
Not really advanced in her plans for OM, Louis-Dreyfus has had a meeting with coach Didier Deschamps along with Vincent Labrune to talk about the coach’s future.
Labrune is keen on holding on to Deschamps and Louis-Dreyfus knows that holding on to him is important as the club won’t be able to pay the severance fee.
All in all, Louis-Dreyfus’s recent statement are not reassuring for fans who have no idea how the summer transfer window will unfold for their club.
