Maria Balotelli asks Manchester City for £180 000 a week
Mario Balotelli’s move to the Eastlands has been put in jeopardy after being a mere few days from completion. The person who managed to make the move reach such an uncertain situation is none other than Balotelli himself. This is due to the fact that when Manchester City officials were talking to Balotelli’s agent and representatives, they asked for his wage to be around a hundred and eighty thousand pounds a week.
City can easily afford to pay that amount for the player and everyone is well aware of that fact. However after all of that being said, Balotelli is pushing his luck when asking for such a ridiculous wage. Even though the team has the funding to support such a move, the question that is being asked is would they?
Balotelli’s representatives are clearly pushing their chances with the deal. Experts say they constantly keep making unreasonable demands that seem ridiculous. It seems as though everyone has forgotten that Balotelli is currently only nineteen years old. He is currently at the rawest of forms and has some serious attitude problems. This is why experts are saying that Manchester City might just pull out of the deal due to the childish behaviour of the player and his agents.
Even though the Eastlands ground has become nothing more than a mere play ground for its billionaire owner, it is more than obvious that he wouldn’t want to pay such a high wage for a player possessing the calibre that Balotelli has. Balotelli, according to experts, isn’t even worth ninety thousand pounds a week as yet. He is however asking for twice that amount which sounds a little absurd to most.
Even though Balotelli is a good prospect for the future, he needs to realize that he is no Messi or Ronaldo yet. Yaya Toure’s move to City has caused uproar amongst the players demanding higher wages. This is because of the fact that the defensive midfielder is currently the highest paid footballer in the world. Yaya Toure earns two hundred and forty thousand pounds a week. That is more than what Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo make. What has happened as a result of that is that City has fallen into the web that they weaved.
City planned on buying players for ridiculous amounts and signing them at a sky high wage, just so they would be able to lure more players to the Eastlands. This has now officially backfired on Manchester City officials who are now going to potentially loose a player due to this very reason.
The Manchester City officials need not worry as yet. This is because if they miss out on Balotelli, it only means that they can turn their attention elsewhere. They wouldn’t want to look any further than Wolfsburg however. They have been long time admirers of the Bosnian hit man, Edin Dzeko who is currently employed at the club. The deal didn’t go through since the transfer fee that was being asked for the player was too high according to City. Now that the Balotelli deal seems to be falling through, City just might reconsider. They could either pay a onetime high fee or sign a world class player, whose wage demands would be rather timid or they could pay an average transfer fee.
Experts believe that if Balotelli is to continue showing his immaturity by doing such things, then the smartest thing for City to do would be to show the player his place. They can only do so by throwing away any and all interest in the player.
