Maria Sharapova and her love for Siberia – Tennis News
World number two, Maria Sharapova, is one of the best tennis superstars of the modern era, having laid a landmark of titles and grunts. She is a cheeky character staying in the news for her wig rumours or double bagels. However,
this A-style living of one of the richest sportswoman of the planet hasn’t forgotten the place from where she belongs to, Nyagan.
The beautiful glooming girl who left her home and travelled to United States of American at the age of nine is the one of strongest and tallest in the history of tennis. She is not only sturdy from outside but her willpower and
courage is also honourable.  She won the Grand Slam title at the age of 17; bamboozling the big American gun, Serena Williams, in the finals.
However, Former world number one from Russia still shivers when she hears the name of the hometown. After finishing off the first round contest in just 48 minutes, she stated in a press conference “I am really happy and proud of
where I come from. It's fun to hear when they announce me and they don't just say born in Russia, they actually say I was born in Nyagan, Siberia. "Every time I hear that, you can hear the crowd go 'whoa.”
The Russian professional is proud of her hometown and whenever someone recalls the name of Nyagan, she gets Goosebumps and feels a lot excited. It’s a small Siberian town that has a population of almost 50,000. So, every time when
the small town is discussed anywhere, Sharapova heads her way to hear and participate in the discussion. What makes that place so remarkable for the 6’2 tall Russian? It’s the ‘coasts and blankets’ that are very soothing.
Sharapova has never won a Roland Garros French Open in her career. She needs this title to complete her career Grand Slam and if she manages to do that, she will most probably climb to the world number one spot, the place where
she has been before and belongs to. However, it will not be an easy task at all especially knowing that the Belarusian world number one, Victoria Azarenka, Pole superstar, Agnieszka Radwanska, and defending champion, Li Na, are still in the draw.
She has another chance to provide her fans with yet another glory moment. A lot of things are on stake that makes the French Open very interesting.
