Maria Sharapova can’t get enough of Paris anytime – Tennis News
World number two, Maria Sharapova, is in love with one of the most beautiful places in the world, Paris. She has always fallen in love with this city all over again whenever she has visited for one purpose or another; mostly it’s
for the Roland Garros French Open.
It’s probably the cafe lunch or the shopping trip to Champs-Elysees that has always entertained her the most. However, the hardcore bashing of all her rivals is another fascinating that the Russian lady has been enjoying for a
long period of time.
Currently, she is in her third French Open semi-final and statistically playing her third match against the Czech superstar, Petra Kvitova, this season. If she manages to grab two more victories, her loves for Paris will sky-rocket
for sure. She is just a win away from becoming the number one player in the world and two triumphs away from completing her career Slam. So much is on the stake and Sharapova is enjoying the heat of it.
Commenting about Paris in general and its people in particular, she confessed, “I love the way that people go about their lives and the way they sit at cafes like a few centimetres from the cars going by. Everyone sits close to
each other and you’re eavesdropping on their conversations. I love coming back here, love challenging myself to get further every year and I hope I can win the title this year.”
She finds this place to be a perfect match for her personality and always loves hanging around in spare time. She further commented, “Who wouldn’t want that lifestyle? It’s great to me. I could eat at L’Avenue every single day,
have the escargot and the little strawberries they have for dessert, gain like 20 pounds. They walk everywhere and they bike. That would help.”
The Russian superstar has an emphatic record 15-1 this season on the red dirt. She has bagged two titles; the debut championship in Stuttgart and the successful title at Rome. She is already on a 10-match unbeaten streak and just
one more victory in the French Open will reinstate on the top of the world rankings; the place she wanted to be at the start of the season.
Stage is set, her favourite city is waiting and tennis fanatics are eager to witness the 6 feet 2 inches tall blonde ruling the world all over again.
