Maria Sharapova embarrassed of her ‘Gangnam Style’ video introduction – Tennis News
Women tennis stars decided to shock the world by introducing themselves in a less familiar way. Former number one Briton, Laura Robson, decided to team up with fellow teenager, Genie Bouchard of Canada, to create a video on the
song of ‘Gangnam Style’. They asked the former world number one, Maria Sharapova, to feature in the start of the video with a saucy wink and she did without asking them what the video was all about. Later when the 25-year-old Russian babe got to know of the
song and the video theme, she was embarrassed to have actually starred in it. She said in an interview, “Yeah, it was really fun until -- well, when I found out what Gangnam was and what Gangnam Style was.”
She further added, “So I did it and I sound ridiculous. I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. Obviously and I'm very embarrassed about it. I was driving my car and I hear this ridiculous song and I'm like, what is this?
And I look at my radio and it says Gangnam Style." So, the gorgeous slender-legged woman was tricked by the teenagers who enjoyed starring in a video that was in response to the reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic’s, dance after his conquest in the Shanghai
Rolex Masters in China.
In the video, Heather Watson features as well and probably shows her best moves that were actually quite fascinating. She actually danced pretty well and the Aussie superstar, Samantha Stosur, did something that was quite funny
but yet a very good shot at something we know as ‘Gangnam Style’. Moreover the Spanish flirt master, Fernando Verdasco, also came in for a second just to say ‘Gangnam Style’. Later, the eighth ranked Frenchman, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, also did some moves to add
spice.
Robson approached the Russian blonde to request her to introduce one of her videos. Sharapova said what is it and Robson replied, its Gangnam Style. Sharapova commented on her reply, “I'm like, what? She's like, Gangnam Style.
I'm like, I'll do it if you tell me how to pronounce it right. She's like, What do you mean you don't know how to pronounce it? I'm like, I've never heard of this. What is it?"
Sharapova didn’t know what the video was all about but now what done is done and she can’t do anything about. Her saucy wink will go down as one of the most attractive yet embarrassing video introductions of all time.
