Maria Sharapova enters the world of fashion designing
Lately, it is becoming popular for professional tennis players to indulge in interests and activities other than tennis, along with having tennis as their major profession. Tennis stars are usually a part of modelling campaigns and sign contracts with different companies in order to promote their products.
Recently, the tennis princess, Maria Sharapova has announced to the public that she will be designing tennis outfits which will be available for anyone who wants to buy them. It is common knowledge that Sharapova has always helped design the attire that she wears out on the court while playing. According to TRP ratings, Sharapova looks absolutely stunning on a tennis court and her outfits are extremely cute and admirable. Hence, it is exciting for the fashion loving girls who play tennis out there to have tennis outfits designed by Sharapova herself.
Maria Sharapova is a talented Russian professional tennis player. At a very young age, she has already managed to win three Grand Slam titles. She made her breakthrough into the world of tennis in 2004 at the age of 17, when she managed to defeat the number one seed, Serena Williams, at the Wimbledon 2004 final. This led to her winning her first Grand Slam title. She used to be ranked number one in the world of tennis and in the year 2008 she was declared to be the world’s highest paid female athlete with a grand earning of $26 million. Indeed, this tennis beauty has a successful and well-established career. Designing outfits is one of her many passions which she wants to pursue, along with playing professional tennis.
This tennis champion was unfortunately knocked out of Wimbledon 2010 in the fourth round, just recently, after suffering a defeat against Serena Williams. She has now admitted that designing tennis outfits for the members of the general public is a new challenge for her. This tennis superstar has amazing looks and it is needless to say that she can look gorgeous in anything. However, as we have all seen her out on the court, she has always been seen to wear stylish and pretty little tennis outfits. It is therefore exciting for the public to know that they will also be able to add these outfits to their wardrobe.
Sharapova has claimed to have wanted to design outfits for a long time now – not only because it is fun but also because it allows her to express the creative and aesthetic side of her personality.
“I’ve been interested in it since I was pretty young”, says Sharapova, in order to convey to the public that her passion for fashion designing is quite strong.
During her career so far, she has come up with quite a few stunning outfits. She has said to have brought sparkle to the world of tennis when she created a dress to wear at the U.S. Open in 2007. Sharapova collaborated with Nike to design this outfit and she personally had it customized with sparkling Swarovski crystals. She brought about glamour and elegance to the court with her creativity. Now that is what we call a tennis star. Coming up with more ideas like this can surely make her an excellent designer.
The tennis diva finds it exciting that now she will not only be creating outfits for herself but for other people out there. She explains that this is now a challenge because when she was only designing for herself, she could experiment and try new and extreme things. However, she must have a different perspective on fashion designing once she takes into consideration of what will look good and will also suit the public in general. It is a different process from before but Maria has her mind set on it and wants to have fun in whatever she is doing. Judging from the tennis player’s previous success stories, she is indeed expected to be successful in fashion designing as well.
