World number two, Maria Sharapova, has a point to prove in the upcoming year-end finale Championship at Istanbul. She might not think of other players and their schedules but one thing is for sure that she will not be sparing any
other thought when it comes to the reigning world number one, Victoria Azarenka, who has made life extremely difficult and scary for the shrieking queen from Russia.
Once Sharapova confessed, “I don't follow other players or the tournaments they play. I have my own schedule and do my own thing. I never really think, 'Oh, I want to be or play like so-and-so.' I just like being myself.” However,
losing four matches in a season out of five to the Belarusian and having a 4-7 overall record against her will be something the 25-year-old Russian would like to change. The anger on her face after losing every point against Azarenka is a clear cut signal
that she does not like it and it’s personal.
On another occasion, Sharapova said, “I'm not a huge gym person, so I try to stay away from the gym. But I love to run on the beach or go for a walk. It's better than riding a stationary bike. I can't please everyone. That's not
in my J.D., you know, not in my job description.” However, she might need to do some work on her shoulder muscles because the speed at which she is hitting the ball is pretty comfortable for the 23-year-old Belarusian and that is not only displeasing for the
second ranked Russian but also her fans.
It is something that needs to be changed and only some hefty muscles at her thighs and shoulder can help her do that. She will have a go at Azarenka at her favourite soil in Istanbul. It will be interesting to witness if she can
turnaround the things in her favour, this time around. Sharapova not only needs to win for herself but also for her newly launched candy line named ‘Sugarpova’. The more she will win, the greater will be the revenue. She might attract a whole lot of customers
through some scintillating blonde looks but wins at the professional platform are equally important to keep the brand growing.
