Maria Sharapova ready to reclaim her throne from Victoria Azarenka – Tennis Special (Part Two)
When you lose, you should accept the defeat and move on instead of making lame excuses. Sharapova is the most consistent player of the season and deserves to lead the rankings without a doubt. You want more facts; okay, I will
tell you something interesting.
Azarenka’s fans are so proud of her two victories over Sharapova but they don’t want to see what Sharapova has done on her comeback. She was returning to the tennis circuit after a shallow season full of injuries and upsets. However,
she left behind everything and fought like a true warrior until the end. What if she was not good enough to beat the in-form Belarusian in the final of the Australian Open? She did something extraordinary; no one expected to see her last this far in the tournament.
The likes of Czech number one, Petra Kvitova and the German tennis ace, Sabine Lisicki, could do nothing to her. She lost three games to the German number one, Angelique Kerber. The form is temporary but class is permanent and that was proved by Sharapova
in the Australian Open.
She accepted the loss and moved on; worked hard throughout and reached the advanced stages of almost all the tournaments. Azarenka was going through her sublime run of form for quite some time but the moment she lost her first
match was the moment she discovered an injury to her right shoulder.
Champion of Rome will be invincible in the Roland Garros French Open and that’s for sure. She is out there and means business. No one can stop the Russian when her big booming ground strokes are meeting the sweet part of her racquet.
The 6’2 tall will not spare anyone in Paris.
She is already displeased by the withdrawal of the Belarusian tennis ace from the Italian Open in Rome. She stated, “For me, if I'm injured, then it doesn't matter how much the fine is, I am not going to play. My body and my health
are the most important things and if you lose points or have a fine, I don't care about that."
There you go; now, you know who is running away from the competition. Sharapova was defending the title in Rome but she didn’t want to do it without any competition on her way. She wanted Azarenka to contest and reach the finals
so that she could show her the misery for the second time in a row and level the head-to-head scores of the season.
The stakes are high and the enthusiasm is even higher. Sharapova wants to win the missing Grand Slam championship and stack up the French Open title to her tally. She is going for two things whilst she is playing in Paris; the
missing Grand Slam title and the number one spot. She has already squandered one opportunity, she won’t do that again. So everyone participating in the French Open should beware; be very aware of the Russian beauty queen.
Because the ‘Maria Mania’ has just begun!
