Maria Sharapova refuses to dance on a Television show – Tennis News
One of the hottest tennis athlete in the women’s tennis, Maria Sharapova, will not dance at the Television show, regardless her fellow tennis superstar are going to brighten the show called ‘Dance With Stars’. Other tennis stars
to have agreed to show their body moves include the likes of Martina Navratilova. She has adapted no holds barred strategy and is enthusiastic to put up an eye-startling show on a different stage.
The Russian beauty starlet has left her fans dejected with this news and probably broken few hearts as well. In an interview about her appearance in the show, she stated, “Even though I like to dance and all, there's something
about dancing in prom costumes in front of national television that is just not very appealing to me.” She put forth this statement after putting up a commanding show against the Italian tennis ace, Roberta Vinci, in the fourth round clash of the BNP Paribas
Open.
She is the former world number one and is currently ranked at number two, just below the Belarusian tennis icon, Victoria Azarenka, who deprived her of the number one spot after winning the year’s first Grand Slam tournament, the
Australian Open. She defeated Sharapova in straight sets and took the number one spot from the Dane superstar, Caroline Wozniacki, pushing her down to the fourth rank.
Sharapova continued talking about the show; she said, “Like is it a lot of practice or is it personality?” I hope I'd have the same answer if I was asked in 10 years.” She loves to write and that is one thing her fans don’t know
about. She does that very often and she has been writing ever since her childhood. She proclaimed this in the same interview and further stated that she would love to do that on professional basis, if she got an opportunity for that.
The 24-years-old Russian has won three Grand Slam titles in her career and became the youngest ever Grand Slam champion in Wimbledon 2004 when she ousted the-then reigning world number one, Serena Williams, in the grand finale.
She was just 17 at that time. The last major title she won was way back in 2008 when she clinched the Australian Open title in Melbourne.
She has been attending fashion shows on regular intervals and was recently called upon as a guest in the show called ‘Chelsea Lately’. It will be interesting to see if she can hold her dancing skills and keep her promise intact
in ‘Dance with the Stars’.
