  1. you can't get schitzo from smoking unless you were going to get it anyways... then mj just brings it on faster.

mj is actually prescribed for some of the symptoms you listed, however, if mj is the reason you're paranoid, then you shouldn't smoke it.  and you're still pretty young to have really established which of those symptoms are permanent and which ones are just a product of age/hormones/having to deal with high school.

  2. There are reports that it can help bring on schitzophrenia early if you are already genetically predisposed to getting it. A couple of joints here and there wont hurt much, But if your young and smoke regularly, Im talking every day or other day, you will mess yourself up.

If you have smoked for 30 days, then stop and you should come back to earth...

  3. For people who have a specific genetic vulnerability marijuana elevates the risk of developing schizophrenia about five times. This involves carrying a mutation called Val-COMT. For people who do not have this gene, there is no increased risk. If you're showing signs of schizophrenia at an early age of 15, you're probably carrying this gene.

For people with preexisting bipolar disorder, marijuana can aggravate the cycling, and specifically induce mania.

More conventional psychiatric problems have no implication in being caused by marijuana, such as depression and anxiety disorders. However, people with these medications frequently attempt to self-medicate with marijuana. Marijuana of course, does not alleviate these symptoms, and can complicate treatment. Marijuana has also been known to occasionally induce mild depression in some people while it is being used regularly, but this is not a major concern - it goes away when you get the person to stop using pot.

Also, marijuana smoking more than once per week is known to cause a delay in development of the right frontal lobe of the brain - an area involved in what we know socially as 'emotional maturity'. It's part of the mechanism that deals with decision making and interpersonal relationships. This area of the brain is done developing by age 20 or so in most individuals.

The above are fairly well ignored in the popular press and the screaming war between political sources and pro-marijuana groups like NORML. The first has no use for complex medical explanations, especially when they weaken their position. The second has an agenda to push that precludes there being anything negative about marijuana.

Also, daily use in a 15 year old is a LOT of pot, and almost guarantees that some form of addiction is present. I mean, this is a huge amount for someone that age to be using, and is a certain sign of some sort of problem.

  4. Well Im almost positive that you can't get schitzphrenia by smoking weed. Im also pretty sure that it was just a rumor back in the 1930's before research was done on it and one of the reasons it was made illegal.

And for young teens... Well it affects everyone differently. Paranoia is a side affect that im pretty sure everyone gets. The rest it varys from each person like I said before.
