  1. Slight confusion here I think....

In order to induce flowering, light is reduced to 12hr light 12hr dark (minimum of 18hr light 6 hrs dark). They can veg on constant 24 hr but for less stressed plants it's best (in my opinion & experience) to give them a period of darkness, they take in CO2 at night which is essential for healthy plants.

Clones can handle near continual light, especially if it's under flourecents, 18hr(light)-6hr(dark) is the lowest I'd go. It does depend on what lights are being used.  If clones are put under say 600wHPS continually they are going to fry. They are still in vegetative growth and are not flowering so 12-12 is no good.

I keep mother & clones under 5 flourescents (18-6) and they are fine. I then move them under 600 watt HPS for final vegging still on 18-6 then swap to 12-12 to induce flowering (after I've taken clones) in order to repeat the process once buds have matured.

    Hope that helps

  2. Clones should not get 24 hours of light. They should get around 12-14. Having a longer time period will cause them to start flowering prematurely. Cloudy is not bad they just will not grow as fast if it is always cloudy.
