Marijuana smoking & pregnancy.....?

Question

I was wondering if someone had their cannabis card and were smoking during pregnancy, would the baby get taken away?!

Its in california.

Also if they did not have their cannabis card and were smoking during pregnancy would the baby get taken away?

I had a neighbor who did and they did not take her baby, the baby was born at the general (county) hospital.

Whether you have a doctors recommendation or not doesn't have anything to do with what's right when you're pregnant, dum@$$!

My cousin and my sister smoked all throughout their pregnancies (sis has 2 and cousin has 3rd on the way) They quit one month before they delivered b/c the dr's test the babies blood for toxins. But as a note..their babies were born with health issues..the one boy is 9 years old now and has SEVERE asthma and misses months of school due it. Quite sickening if you ask me. I'm in NY and they do take your baby away.

Im not sure what a cannabis card is, but marijuana is a great remedy for hyperemesis gravida (extreme nausea and vomiting). It is probably the most effective remedy for it and probably safer than a prescription medication. Not sure about smoking twice a day, but moderation is the key to anything

Remember, your baby is rapidly developing and any type of drug in its system could delay that growth or it could even damage it.  You must also remember that marijuana could potentially be laced with something else.  I would not take this risk.  And yes, there is a chance that you could lose custody of your child if the state feels the child is in harms way during and after the pregnancy.  I am not against marijuana users as long as they are responsible adults and smoking during a pregnancy is not something a responsible adult, or mother, would do.

and any drug taking in pregnancy should mean the child gets taken away from the parent .

Card or not, it is dangerous for the baby and anyone who smokes pot while pregnant should be hospitalized til the baby is born to keep her from smoking more. I think that is child abuse!
