The Spanish swimmer showed no leniency to her opponents in the two lap breaststroke discipline as she made her way to the finishing wall for gold medal. With her invincible pace, she remained in a prominent lead over her challengers and secured the title.
Urzainqui remained more than one and a half a body length ahead of her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 09.33 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Elisa Celli of Italy, who was 1.45 seconds behind and touched the wall for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 10.78 seconds.
Celli was chased by Jessica Vall Montero of Spain, who was 0.06 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall for bronze medal by posting a time of 1 minute and 10.84 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was secured by Coralie Dobral of France, who was 0.66 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 11.50 seconds.
Dobral was chased by Erica Varini of Italy, who was nearly four seconds apart and occupied fifth fastest spot of the event by reporting an effort of 1 minute and 15.29 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained by Zoe Djerbali of France, who was 0.20 seconds apart and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 15.49 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was secured by Aurore Meallares of France, who was considerably slower from her former finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 18.02 seconds.
Last spot of the race was secured by Berta Marti Palau of Spain, who was 1.01 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing wall with the timing of 1 minute and 19.03 seconds.
Furthermore, Urzainqui received massive admiration from the audience for her notable efforts and collected medal after the race.
