Marinas Rebel upsets Kingsmill Might – Greyhound Racing Update
Another Grade A2, 462 meters Greyhound Race held at Kinsley on January 6, 2012, was won by Marinas Rebel. The winning prize of the event was £65.
Marinas Rebel entered the race from trap number six, and ended up being the winner. She had a starting price of 3 to 1, but was not the favourite to win.

Her trainer, E T Parker, was delighted with the result, as the b***h covered the overall distance in 27.83 seconds.
Marina Rebel is the daughter of Droopys Kewell out of Marinas Bargain, and was born in September, 2007.
Kingsmill Might, the son of Daddy Cool out of Lunar Vacation, born in January, 2009, finished second, despite being the favourite to win.

He had a starting price of 5 to 4, but disappointed his trainer, J Scott, who would have been expecting the winning cash prize.
The runner up fought extremely hard throughout, but didn’t have enough left in the tank as he lost the race by 0.02 seconds, covering the total distance in 27.85 seconds, after breaking into the race from trap number five.
Warrior Jack was the only other hound to finish inside the 27-second bracket, as he clocked a time of 27.96 seconds.

He was the least favourite to win with a starting price of 11 to 4, and also the youngest dog amongst all, born in February 2010 to Droopys Corelli and Sarah Jayne.
The third placed hound went into the race from trap number one, trained by J G Hurst.
R Thompson’s trainee, Old Fort Times, completed the race in 28.14 seconds, after breaking from trap number four. He had a starting price of 3 to 1, and was expected to be amongst the top three finishers.
Old Fort Times, the son of Crash out of Clonteen Tornado, was born in May of 2008.
Russanda Loyal, the son of Droopys Maldini out of Loyal Princess, trained by E T Parker, finished fifth in the race, starting from trap number three.

He completed the distance in 28.21 seconds, and had a starting price of 7 to 2.
The hound that finished last was Southlodge Bear, who completed the race in 28.26 seconds. His starting price was 3 to 1 and his trainer K J O’Hara would have been disappointed at the outcome.
Overall, this was a very interesting race with the top three hounds finishing the race pretty close.
