Marine Corp Military Police...

Question

First off, I am a female. I don't know if that changes anything or not..

1.) How long is MP school & where is it located?

2.) How do you become a working dog handler? I know you have to be in MOS 5811 first but how long do you have to wait until you can train to be a working dog handler? Also, how long is that training & where is it located?

3.) What do Marine MP do exactly? Are they deployed alot?

4.) I am not quite 65 in. & I read that that is the height requirement to being in the MP. What are the chances that that can be waivered to 62 in?

I believe there is a different height standard for women.

1.) At the USAMPS in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. I believe it is 9 wks long.

2.) The training is at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas. I'm not really sure but I think it's 13 wks long.

3.) They guard bases in Iraq so yes they get deployed often. Working dog handlers work with dogs to detect explosives & such.

4.) It is waiverable to 62, but it's not guaranteed you can get it waivered. I have a friend who was 64.5 in. & she couldn't get it waivered.
