  1. Do what you're told. Don't stand out. Don't be first. Don't be last. inspect=expect? Expect pain. In fact, look forward to it. Don't do anything alone. Always buddy-up. Don't look superiors in the eye. You will use muscles you never thought you had. Never say "I can't" or "I'll try". Don't cry. Believe me... you will want to. Drill instructors are there to help you. You will hate them at first. But believe me, you will respect the h**l outta them very very soon. Keep in mind that everything that they are making you do... They have done over and over and over and over. Always strive to be perfect. Get in touch with your warrior spirit. I'm not kidding dude.

    SEMPER FI!!!!!

  2. Get in shape BEFORE you do anything else!

    Do it NOW!

Your body will be challenged like never before.

If you are in shape now better than you have ever been, you will have a far easier time.

Some fat guys have died in boot camp!

So get down and give me fifty!

And wipe that smile off your face!

  3. Oh everything the first guy said and DON'T VOLUNTEER!!!

  4. Others have answered your question already.

You should already be running 3 miles regularly .  Ask your recruiter what other PT exercises you need to be working on.

When I went thru back in the 80's it was sit ups, pull ups and 3 mile run.  Don't know if it has changed.

You didn't specify which boot camp???  Left Coast or Right Coast.   Or  which side of the Mississippi River you live on.

  5. Keep a low-profile whenever possible.

Remember, the people screaming at you, are people just like you. They are just doing their job.

Listen closely to instructions, follow instructions, and everything else will fall into place.

    -Good luck.
