Question:

Marine Doc's/ medical?

When one gets the first job on a cruise ship, a marine medical has to be obtained. There are only two such 'clinics' in the UK, London and Preston. The medical certificate obtained lasts for two years.

For the second on, does anyone know if the Doctor, resident on board ship writes out these certificates or does the person still have to see the marine docs based on land?

  1. I worked on ships for nearly ten years. The doctor onboard does not do those medicals, you are always send to a hospital to get it done.
