I was thinking about joining the military, weather it be Air force or Marines. I decided that if the war with iraq was over when i was the age to enlist, i would join the Marines. If the war was not over i decided to join the Air force, and be a C-17 pilot. I had heard that the Army isn't very good and that the Marines have a lot of pride and honor. I'm almost at my peak physical condition but was wondering what the physical testes and training would be like. i was also wondering what the process would be like after you enlist, what happens after that? So, in short what are the physical requirements and tests, and what is the whole process beginning with enlisting? Plz, get back to me thanks =)

  1. my son is in the army and he loves it so dont now were you get your resourses from i can tell you one thing for sure the recruiters will tell you everything you want to hear but watch ou they lie threw there teeth if you joined any branch you join it will probably take atleast 2 years of training before you went anywere on deployment and make sure before you enlist that they offer you a cash bonus or tell the recruiter forget it you will see how fast they offer you some cash good luck 2 you

  2. So you want to be a Marine but only during peace time???

I suggest to you not to enlist into the USMC at all..Please dont tell me you want to be a Marine but not have to fight for that right?

You can read here what it takes and means to be a Marine..

Choosing to be a Marine when you feel its safe says alot about your character..

  3. Lavadog is right. Clearly the Marine Corps. isn't for you if you intend to "stay safe". And aren't pilots supposed to have degrees, and be officers? I highly doubt you can be a pilot if you're not an officer.

  4. God forbid you should do the job you are trained to do, I hate it when people say, "i will join when the war is over"

  5. 1st of all: you cannot enlist and be a pilot, you have to have a degree and/or go through the academy.

2d: The Marine Corps has cargo planes that you could pilot....

3d: there is a lot of running involved in basic, so the more you run the better off you will be in that respect.

    Good luck.
