Is the MSOB the "New Force Recon" and what are it's requirements?

and is it like Force Recon, like more focused on reconnaissance?

No they are not. They are under the direct command of the USASOC. Their ranks were initially filled with force recon because they were the highest qualified individuals the Marines had that had the best chance of making it.

Yes it is.  To try out for MARSOC (MSOB) you'll need to do at least 2 years as a Rifleman or Recon man and be **** hot.  Their job is very similar to that of the Navy SEALs.  Recon is part of it but not all of it.
