Marine infantry MOS question

okay i want to join infantry but i'm a little confused on how this works if i pick infantry will i get infantry (doesn't matter what job in infantry) or could i end up getting like a desk job on a base.....i hear a lot of people say you get what the Marines need. but dose this saying only go for you're MOS field or the entire Corps?

You'll get infantry.  Most likely you'll end up an 0311--rifleman.  Trust me, there's nothing easy about being in the infantry, much less a desk job.  If you sign up for 0300, you will be knee deep in the **** about a year after you ship.

you will enlist as an 0300 then. after bootcamp you will go to ITB (ifantry training battalion) and after the first 2 weeks you will then be designated as either an 0311, 0331,0341, or 0352. that is either rifleman, machine gunner, mortarman, or an assaltman basically SMAW crew.

You sign a contract for the 03xx field..

When you go to ITB for your schooling they will choose one of these for you..

-assault men

-mortar man

-machine gunner

-light armored vehicle

-tow gunner

-rifleman

Under no circumstances will you be placed into another MOS field..That is just not true.
