  1. The only time it's an issue is if you guys are in each other's chain of command or 1 an officer and 1 enlisted in the same branch. You guys are in 2 separate branches so there is no issue. You can't influence each others careers so you are fine.

  2. Your fine.

The only way you could have a problem is if one of you is commissioned. Even then there are ways to accommodate previous relationships. I have seen Army regs that get into detailed scenarios primarily concerning NCO's. In the case of officer/enlisted there is a time frame where they can get married. If they don't they have to break it off. That is not stuff you will find in the UCMJ.

They just want to avoid potential problems by actual or perceived preferential treatment that a senior person could bestow on a junior person. It's just the military form of "offitics". Not a good idea for the boss to be dating the receptionist kinda thing.

  3. It should be no problem especially since you are in different branches and will not be in each other chain of command.

  4. The only time a relationship is an issue is if one person is an officer, and one is enlisted. otherwise.. knock yourselves out.

  5. You can still date...however it doesn't matter how long you knew her or what branch of the service if one of you is an officer and the other enlisted then you can't do it.

But the only thing that will get in your way of dating is if you are separated. You can date other members of the armed forces if you are both enlisted. (there are a few exceptions...members of the same unit are often discouraged from it, or if one of you is a senior NCO/Chief Petty Officer and the other a junior enlisted.)

I don't think you two will have any trouble.

  6. Yes, they will chop it off.
