I would want to go to War, be on the front lines.. I don't want to be on a plane, chopper or ship.. I want to be on the ground behind enemy lines. I think i should go for the Marines..... If the army or navy ever looked upon heavens scenes, they would find the gates gaurded by us marines.....

"Do not attack the First Marine Division. Leave the yellowlegs alone. Strike the American Army." Orders given to Communist troops in the Korean War;

shortly afterward, the Marines were ordered to not wear their khaki leggings.

"The deadliest weapon in the world is a MARINE and his rifle!"

GEN. PERSHING, US.ARMY

"The more Marines I have around, the better I like it."

General Clark, U.S. Army

"No one can say that the Marines have failed to do their work in handsome fashion."

Major General Hagood, U.S. Army

they can't get away from us this time."

Chesty Puller, USMC, Chosin Reservoir, Korean War

"They (Marines) have given us our only real fight." Commanding Officer of the British, War 0f 1812

"The American Marines are terribly reckless fellows... they would make very good storm troopers." Unidentified German officer at Belleau Wood

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" Eleanor Roosevelt

"My only answer as to why the Marines get the toughest jobs is because the average Leatherneck is a much better fighter. He has far more guts, courage, and better officers... These boys out here have a pride in the Marine Corps and will fight to the end no matter what the cost." 2nd Lt. Richard C. Kennard, Peleliu, World War II

"It's a funny thing, but, as years go by, I think you appreciate more and more what a great thing it was to be a United States Marine... People will tell me what a shame it was I had to go back into the service a second time, but I'm kinda glad I did.. Besides, I am a U.S. Marine and I'll be one till I die." Ted Williams

"I can never again see a UNITED STATES MARINE without experiencing a feeling of reverence." GEN. JOHNSON, U.S. ARMY

"There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and those who have met them in battle. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion." Unknown

CAPTURED NORTH KOREAN MAJOR

"The MARINES have landed and have the situation well in hand!"

If I had one more division like this First Marine Division I could win this war.

General of the Armies Douglas McArthur in Korea,

overheard and reported by Marine Staff Sergeant Bill Houghton, Weapons/2/5

The Marine Corps is the Navy's police force and as long as I am President that is what it will remain. They have a propaganda machine that is almost equal to Stalin's.

  1. Yes, join the Marines, be on the front lines and then become completey f*cked up, as well as a liar, cheater, and alcoholic.

  2. Heres the deal son.  Im in the Marines.   Im in the Infantry.  Ive been to Iraq and now I could be living it up at Camp Pedleton in So Cal but instead I left my vacation time (annual leave) early to go to Afghanistan.  I dont regret a thing Ive done in the Corps.  Its down right amazing and you will never forget this experience.  Ive been to ten countries, slept in flooded fields, killed myself on patrols in the desert, slept with my fair share of foreigners, saved lives from suicide bombings in Iraq, helped rebuild villages in the Phillipines, been thrown in the drunk tank in Thailand, Pissed in the the streets of Australia while heavily intoxicated w random women, Chased countless insurgents as they flee (and laughing my *** off at the scared b*****s the whole way), and all around had the time of my life that none of these others can even come close to relating to. (Those are the milder stories too)   If you want less then a ice cubes shot in h**l to become special forces in the army then go ahead.   They wont have our esprit de corps.  They might train more but training is just tax dollars being spent and half those men still cant compare to the **** Ive seen or done.   I'll tell you right now the Marine Corps will take you for the ride of your life without ever stooping to sell you on bonuses or promotions.  I got where I am on blood, sweat, and tears and I KNOW the army wont offer you these opportunities.   Basically you have to ask yourself   Are you joining to get paid to fight?   Or are you joining because you want to prove to yourself that you have what it takes to be the best man you can..... at killing this fine countries enemies.    Oorah!     (That was very kind of Some Girl to give us such kind compliments.  Im truely honored)

  3. YES!!!!!! go to the Marines and get some my dude!!!!

we  are the ones who fight the war..first in last out...

  4. Well, the Marines are some badass fighters, and there's no question that they'll be in every major battle. However, being a soldier, I'm partial to the Army. You could consider Ranger training and go to 75th Regiment. You could become an 18 series Special Forces soldier, or you could do what I did and become a 37F PSYOP soldier. We work behind enemy lines and often with SF, using words, propaganda, and other methods to persuade, change and influence. Both the Marines and Army can definitely offer you a chance to go into battle, and both are a good choice. The benefit of the Army is that it is the largest branch of the military, with more station choices, faster promotion, and often larger budgets. I knew a lot of former Marines who traded blue for green for those reasons. That said, I think saying "I'm a Marine" gets you more women...maybe:-)

  5. I like youre quotes. I have read many of them before and enjoy reading them again. If you want front lines then go Marines. But if I do make a suggestion (in respect to the corps and those serving) it would be to change your username from "devildawg" to something else. People get real touchy on that because you technical havent earned the name yet.  Go talk to some Marine recruiters. I wish the best of luck to you. I leave for Parris Island Sept. 8th.

  6. what a wonderful collection of quotes, made me proud to be a part of the Corps.i think you just answered your own question.

  7. first off there is no front lines, there is safe in the rear with the gear or going thru the wire. Now you seem like a action junkie and with some  smarts so the "devil dog" path is not for you. SEAL's ,combat  controllers ,rangers, delta force thats what you seek, then there is Blackwater for after you are done

  8. The Marines.

We need more young people like you to protest us.

    God Bless.
