The Italian striker stated that he has dreamt of wearing the Italy jersey from his childhood days, and insisted that it is a tremendous feeling to finally be able to play for his beloved country.
Balotelli insisted that the UEFA Euro competition is second only to the World Cup, and stressed that he is fired up at the prospect of playing against the top European teams, and cannot wait to get into the field.
The Manchester City aggressor stated that he intends to give his all in the upcoming tournament to bring joy and satisfaction to the Azzurri fans.
While talking to Corriere dello Sport, the 21-year-old said:
“I’ve dreamed of playing at the Euros since I was a child. Wearing the Italy jersey has always been my dream and now it has become reality. Now the Euros are coming up, which are the biggest competition along with the World Cup.
I’m so fired up I can’t wait to get started. I will give my all to do well. The whole team and I want the Nazionale to play a great Euros so we can give some satisfaction to the Italian people."
Balotelli insisted that he has great respect in his heart for Cesare Prandelli and Roberto Mancini, as they are the greatest coaches he has worked with in his career. The Italian problem child guaranteed that he will keep himself
under control in the Euros, and there will be no problem from him.
