Mario Been, Feyenoord Rotterdam manager, has expressed optimism regarding his side’s chances in the upcoming season. Been’s troops finished 10th in the league table despite a poor start to the 2010/11 campaign.
De Stadoinclub had their first training session at De Kuip Stadion on June 26 in front of 8000 fans. Although many fans left the stadium voicing dissatisfaction over the club management’s inability to sogn good players, the tactician was still pleased with
the newcomers.
Been revealed that he is feeling confident of his side performing well in the upcoming season, and believes that his men will certainly finish in the top five Eredivisie sides by the end of the campaign.
“We must wait and see how the squad will definitely shape up but if we can keep this group together, I am confident that we will have a good season”, Been was quoted as saying to the media.
The Stadiumclub recently acquired the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miquel-Nelom-c25981 returned to Feyenoord after playing on loan for the outfit from Excelsior. The aforementioned players took their first
training session at De Kuip Stadion and impressed the coach with their skills.
“The newcomers have made a very good impression on me. It is an advantage of course that Miquel, Jordy and Kaj had their football upbringing at Feyenoord. There is a lot of footballing ability in this group although it is of course a very young squad at
the moment”, Been added.
De Stadionclub fear the departures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Georginio-Wijnaldum-c14629, as the duo have remained linked with a host of elite European clubs for the past couple of months. Furthermore, Arsenal’s Ryo Miyaichi is also unlikely to extend his loan spell with
the Stadiumclub.
However, the tactician remains hopeful ahead of the 2011/12 campaign.
“Still, I am convinced that we will have a good season to turn. I am positive”, Been concluded.
With the Dutch trainer brimming with confidence, it seems likely that the Rotterdam giants would be competing successfully in the upcoming season.
