Mario Chalmers includes himself in debate over top point guards in the league – NBA News
The NBA has recently been buzzing with discussions regarding who the best point guard in the league is.

With the league currently being dominated by point guards, and the position considered to be the most important in the game, every time a discussion regarding the top guard pops up, there are surely going to
be a lot of people talking a lot of different things.
C.J. Watson said last month that Deron Williams is the best point guard in the league when, even though he had just come off playing two amazing seasons with the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose.

Jason Terry claims that Jason Kidd once told him that Rajon Rondo was the best point guard in the league as he prepares to join the Boston Celtics. And Rondo himself has said that he considers himself to be the
best guard in the league.
Now, Mario Chalmers, point guard of the reigning champions Miami Heat, has included himself in the debate by saying that he considers himself one of the top 10 guards in the league at this moment.

Chalmers has always had a positive attitude and confidence in his game, which allowed him to be his own man playing in a team which includes LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. He played some good games
in the past season, earning him praise from within the team.
However, Chalmers went a step beyond himself when he was asked by Bleacher Report’s Peter Emerick to comment on Rajon Rondo’s claim that he is the best point guard in the league.
“He’s not the best, but he’s in the top five. There are a lot of great point guards in the league, Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Steve Nash. There are a lot of great guards in the NBA so for him to say he’s
the best is a pretty bold statement. I’d say that I [Mario Chalmers] am in the front end of the top 10,” said Chalmers.
The fact that Chalmers included himself in that conversation and decided to miss out Derrick Rose speaks volumes about his boast. However, athletes need to be confident of themselves and their abilities in a
league as competitive as the NBA. If thinking so makes him work harder and play better, than it is something that can be taken with a pinch of salt.
