Mario Gomez: Bayern Munich are clear favourites to win the Bundesliga
Having beaten Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 by a comfortable 4-0 margin and after going five points clear at the top of the league table, Mario Gomez believes that the Reds are clear favourites to win the Bundesliga.
The Bavarian giants proved fatal hosts for the capital club on Saturday, October 15, at Allianz-Arena. The home side went three goals clear inside first 13 minutes before slowing the pace down, eventually finishing with a 4-0 score line. Mario Gomez, Franck
Ribery and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 registered their names on the score sheet.
Bayern made a brisk start to the game, which they were already tipped to win comfortably. It only took five minutes for Gomez to open the scoring which was doubled by Ribery just two minutes later. Schweinsteiger gave a good account of his worth by adding
third in the 13thminute. Gomez’s brace in the 69th minute sealed a highly anticipated Bayern victory.
The striker expressed pleasure at his team’s professional show and vowed to keep up the same form for the future assignments. He thought that Ribery played a decisive role in his team’s victory and urged the Frenchman to maintain fitness ahead of the important
Champions League fixtures.
Gomez also showed delight at his own form and is confident of achieving silverware at the conclusion of this campaign. He claimed that the Reds are in a much better shape and spirit this term and could easily run through any of the top European outfits,
unlike the 2010/11 season.
The German international concluded his talks by saying, "We were very good today. If we play like that we'll win the league, and I'll be even more happy if I've made a contribution."
He added, "We only trained once after the international break but it's not a problem for us. We're used to playing every three days, whether it's in the Champions League or for the national team, especially as eight of us play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904."
With the win on Saturday, Bayern are sitting pretty at the top with 22 points from nine games, five points clear of the second placed Borussia Monchengladbach. The Reds will next be in action on Sunday, October 23, against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492.
