The Bayern Munich striker has denied comparisons with the Barcelona star and has admitted that the Argentinean is on a different level.

international as the player is in a different class altogether.
Gomez has been in sensational form this season and has already scored a staggering 37 goals in 41 appearances for the Reds in all competitions. The striker has been in sublime form and is the highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga
at the moment.

“Of course I am a striker and will score many goals, but the team's success is of course an absolute priority. I'm not crazy and will not compare myself with Messi. He is perhaps the best ever. But he inspires me to score more
goals,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the German international has set his sights on winning the second-leg Champions League quarter-final against Olympique Marseille on Tuesday. The striker warned his side against complacency in the game and admitted
that the French team is well capable of turning things around.
Bayern have a 2-0 lead from the first-leg and need only a draw at home to progress to the semi-final of the competition.
“We mustn't start thinking it'll happen automatically. In a quarter-final, you can't expect the opposition to give up and let us through. It'll be another fiercely contested game. We have to resist and deliver the same performance
