The Bayern Munich striker has voiced his belief in the Reds squad ahead of a must-win encounter against the Borussians.
Bayern Munich attacker, Mario Gomez, is expecting an electrifying atmosphere when his side travels to the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday, April 11. He confirmed that it will be a must-win game for his team if they want to emerge
champions by the end of this campaign.
Gomez warned his side against any complacency advising them to stay focussed. He stated that the Munich giants cannot afford any slipups in rest of their fixtures and therefore must try and get three points out of their visit to
go even with the Borussians.
The striker himself has been in sublime form since the past two seasons and is currently the highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga. He is also the leading scorer in Europe for his side and will definitely be crucial to Bayern’s
chances in their bid to reclaim lost glory.
While talking to reporters ahead of the game, the former Stuttgart striker further added: "We have to win if we want to be champions. If we drop points, it does us no good."
On the other hand, Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes enthused that the title will not be decided until the last matchday. He claimed that both sides have equal chances despite the Borussians being at home for this crunch encounter.
However, he insisted that a win for either side will strengthen the chances of winning the title.
"I think this will happen only in the final matchday," Heynckes added.
Bayern skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929, also revealed his excitement ahead of the Dortmund trip. He mentioned that it is one of the bigger games of his life and is looking forward to dismantle the opposition in their backyard.
"These are the games you play football for," Lahm concluded.
Bayern are well in contention to complete a treble this season as they have already qualified for the final of the German Cup and will meet Real Madrid in the last-four of the UEFA Champions League.
Both these title rivals will once again meet in a month’s time when the teams travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 on May 12 for the DFB-Pokal final.
