The Bayern Munich striker has extended his stay at the Allianz Arena until 2016 after weeks of speculation regarding his future.
Mario Gomez has eventually put pen to paper at Bayern Munich and will stay at the club until 2016. The striker has been in outstanding form for the Munich giants this season and currently is the leading goal scorer in the Bundesliga.
The Bayern bosses were keen to retain the former Stuttgart man following his consistent form and have finally sealed the deal.
The striker has expressed his pleasure after agreeing new terms with the Bavarian club. He mentioned that Bayern is one of the best clubs in Europe and a side which is always in contention to win silverware. He mused that it is
extremely honourable for him to be a part of this big club and is confident to achieve bigger heights in the coming years.
While taking to reporters after signing a new deal at the club, Gomez further added:
"I have always said that Bayern are a great club and that I'm feeling very well here. That's why I'm happy that the contract extension is all done now. I am confident that we can achieve a lot in the upcoming years.”
On the other hand, Bayern sporting director, Christian Nerlinger also expressed his delight at Gomez’s contract extension. He applauded the striker at his consistency and rated him as one of the best forwards in Europe.
