Mario Gomez labels Messi as the best player in the world
The Bayern Munich star goal scorer, Mario Gomez has recently labeled Messi as the best player in the world by a mile. He thinks that all the players who are currently in competition with Messi are far behind and he was also honoured that many compare him
to the Argentinean striker.
While the footballing world has compared Gomez to Messi, the German star striker thinks that Messi is easily the best player in the world. He believes that the Argentinean star is far above him and all his competitors in the world of football.
Mario Gomez has been scoring a lot of goals for the German giants. Moreover, Gomez has also scored many goals for German national team. Gomez was flattered by Hitzfeld’s compliment about him but he has simply dismissed all such comparisons by
stating that Messi is currently the best in the business.

"He's flattering me, of course. No current player stands in comparison with Messi. He’s unique, and comfortably the best player in the world.”
Gomez also spoke highly of Ottmar Hitzfeld and accepted the fact that he took his comments as a compliment. He said:
"I'm aware that Ottmar Hitzfeld isn't just any old commentator, he's a celebrated and successful coach, so I'm certainly proud if that’s what he said. Not as much about being compared to Messi, who’s a completely different type of player, but because of
the significance of the statement.”

Gomez also thinks that he himself can never compare himself to the 2010 Ballon d’Or winner. He said:
"Personally, I’d never compare myself to him, but I’m aware of my strengths, and I know I have plenty of goals in me, now and in the future."

Mario Gomez has been scoring a lot of goals for the German Giants. The 26-year old star striker has managed to score 13 goals in 13 appearances for Bayern Munich this season.
