Mario Gomez has announced that he is thankful to Bayern Munich as he is set to leave the Bavarian giants for Italian club Fiorentina in the summer. The prolific scorer signed a four year contract with the Serie A team only a month following his side’s historic
treble.
“Dear fans, it is time to announce that I'll be leaving the club with a weeping and a laughing eye,” he added.
The star player admitted it was a hard decision to leave Der FCB. He further added that the supporters should know that he is sad following this development. He said thanks to the fans and his colleagues along with the club officials at the club as they
supported him throughout his tenure in Munich.
“I would like to thank you fans and of course my team-mates, the staff and all the people at Bayern for the sensational support you gave me,” he mused.
He claimed that he had an amazing time and said Die Roten are the best team in Europe. Gomez stated that he is grateful for the four years he spent with the UEFA Champions League winners. He suggested he is starting a new chapter in his life and is anticipating
his new side Fiorentina and the city, the country, the culture, the language and the lovely food.
“It was a great time at the best club in the world. I am very grateful for the great experience that I could made here in these four years,” he said.
“Now begins a new chapter for me and I look forward to joining my new club Fiorentina,” he concluded.
Gomez added that he will remain in touch with Bayern and want the club to achieve great things in the future. He said that the German club will stay as the best club in Europe and are in good hands with Pep Guardiola as their head coach. Lastly, he thanked
the supporters for their support and love.
